About the Opportunity

We are seeking a dynamic Operations Manager to join our fast-paced and growing office located in the West Parry Sound Health Centre, Parry Sound, Ontario. Our organization currently has over 7,000 supporters throughout Canada/USA and annual revenues of approximately $5 million. This dynamic and critical role is responsible for inspiring our donors (both seasonal and full-time residents) to support local hospital care.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operational functions of the Foundation, ensuring that our fundraising, donor stewardship, events, Board of Directors, and administrative activities run smoothly and efficiently. Reporting directly to the CEO, this individual will play a critical role in supporting a high-performing team and enabling the Foundation to meet and exceed its annual fundraising goals.

More About You

In addition to having a Post-Secondary education in Business Administration, Nonprofit Management, Public Relations or a related field, you will also need to have:

  • Minimum 3 years of progressive operations or management experience, preferably in a charitable or nonprofit organization.
  • Demonstrated experience managing operational budgets of $1M or more.
  • Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) designation or progress toward AFP certification considered an asset.
  • Experience working in a hospital or health-care foundation environment preferred.
  • Working knowledge of CRA charitable sector regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with donor management/CRM systems (e.g., Raiser's Edge, Salesforce, eTapestry, or equivalent).
  • Leadership skills with demonstrated ability to motivate, develop, and manage projects and people. 
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to engage effectively with donors, board members, hospital leadership, and the public.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and project management tools.
  • Demonstrated satisfactory attendance levels, work performance, disciplinary history, and positive work references.

Responsibilities include:

  • Oversee and optimize all internal operational systems, processes, and workflows to maximize organizational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Monitor annual operational plans aligned with the Foundation's strategic priorities; prepare reports and provide business analyses.
  • Working with the Financial Manager and the CEO, monitor operational budget tracking expenditures and prepare regular budget analysis reports.
  • Ensure compliance with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) requirements for registered charities, including T3010 filings and charitable receipting obligations.
  • Maintain accurate organizational records, legal documents, policies, and governance files.
  • Support the planning and execution of major fundraising campaigns, events, and special initiatives generating $5M+ annually.
  • Oversee the Foundation's donor management system (CRM), ensuring data structure and integrity, gift processing accuracy, and timely tax receipt issuance.
  • Demonstrates the highest standards of customer and patient service for all internal and external interactions and customers.

About Parry Sound

Parry Sound is a beautiful town, located on the shores of an inland “ocean”, Georgian Bay. The area boasts many beautiful beaches, parks and trails. It is ideally situated just off highway 400, in the Southermost part of Northern Ontario. This charming waterfront town is within a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, and home to 6,500 residents in the town itself, and over 14,000 in the immediate area. In summer, the population grows to nearly 100,000 people with seasonal residents, making for a very interesting dynamic! The area boasts several Provincial Parks and unlimited water for boating, canoeing/kayaking, fishing and things to do.
