About the Opportunity

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Human Resources Intern to join our Human Resources team! Working collaboratively with Health Centre staff, the successful candidate will assist in the day-to-day operations and activities of the Human Resources department in the delivery of customer-focused HR services.

 

Hours of work are Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm.

 

Responsibilities

  • Assists recruitment team in posting vacant positions, preparing job competition summaries, reviewing candidate resumes and scheduling interviews.
  • Assists with new hire orientation when required.
  • Answers frequently asked questions from job applicants and employees regarding standard policies, benefits, hiring processes etc. Refers more complex questions to appropriate senior level HR staff or management.
  • Assists with employee benefit enrollment and benefit changes.
  • Participates in labour relations meetings and assists with notetaking and grievance process documentation.
  • Assisting with the administration and tracking of employee training, probationary reviews, and annual reviews.

More About You

Position Requirements

  • Successful completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
  • Pursuing a diploma or degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • No previous work experience in Human Resources is required.
  • Demonstrated excellent word processing and computer application skills.
  • Demonstrated excellent organizational skills, interpersonal skills and oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated satisfactory attendance levels, performance levels, disciplinary history, and positive work references.

About Parry Sound

Parry Sound is a beautiful town, located on the shores of an inland “ocean”, Georgian Bay. The area boasts many beautiful beaches, parks and trails. It is ideally situated just off highway 400, in the Southermost part of Northern Ontario.
