About the Opportunity

WPSHC is currently looking for a permanent, full-time Pharmacy Technician, reporting to the Clinical Manager.  The main function of the Pharmacy Technician is to provide medication distribution to the nursing units and their patients. Hours of work are all shifts, including weekends

More About You

You will be a Regulated Pharmacy Technician registered with the Ontario College of Pharmacists to qualify for the role. You will also need to have:

  • Successful completion of the Canadian Council of Accreditation of Pharmacy Programs (CCAPP) Accredited Pharmacy Technician Education Program;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of drug terminology, controlled dosage systems and pharmacy related issues;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of various computer applications and software related to healthcare programs; 
  • Demonstrated excellent attendance levels, work performance, disciplinary history and positive work references.

Additional Qualifications considered an asset!

  • Previous experience as a Regulated Pharmacy Technician in a health institution environment;
  • Certification in Chemotherapy preparation;
  • Certification in aseptic technique and IV/TPN preparation;
  • Current knowledge of computerized pharmacy information systems;
  • Previous experience in purchasing and inventory control, and controlled dosage systems;
  • Previous experience with Best Possible Medication History.

About Parry Sound

Parry Sound is a beautiful town, located on the shores of an inland “ocean”, Georgian Bay. The area boasts many beautiful beaches, parks and trails. It is ideally situated just off highway 400, in the Southermost part of Northern Ontario.
