About the Opportunity

We are seeking a dynamic Senior Donor Relations Manager to join our fast-paced and growing office located in the West Parry Sound Health Centre, Parry Sound, Ontario. Our organization currently has over 6,000 supporters throughout Canada/USA and annual revenues of approximately $4.5 million.  This is a dynamic and critical role, responsible for inspiring our donors (both seasonal and full-time residents) to support local hospital care.
 
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Senior Donor Relations Manager will work closely with the entire Foundation team. This position will be primarily responsible for working with the CEO and key volunteers to reach annual targets for recruiting and retaining major donors. They will be expected to collaborate with other team members to ensure the alignment of all fundraising activities for the most positive outcome for the Foundation and donors. The desire and ability to balance teamwork while achieving individual goals is essential.

More About You

In addition to having a University Degree or Community College Diploma in a related field, you will also need to have:

  • Proven fundraising experience with major gifts and annual direct marketing campaign experience or proven sales and relationship building within the for-profit section.
  • Member in good standing with the AFP or AHP and/or willingness to accomplish is an asset.
  • Demonstrated satisfactory attendance levels, work performance, disciplinary history, and positive work references.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills with the ability to facilitate positive relationships.
  • Demonstrated professionalism, tact, and diplomacy in interactions with others.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize, and multi-task while providing consistent, high-quality work.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to the Foundation’s mission, vision, and values.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.  
  • Ability to adapt to continually changing priorities.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to perform work assignments with minimal supervision and good judgment.
  • A strong and engaging communicator with a demonstrated ability to relate, communicate and build consensus across a wide range of audiences.
  • Comfort level with all levels of philanthropy.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams).
  • Will be required to attend and support off-site meetings and events in the community.

More About the Opportunity

  • Build and drive growth of a portfolio of prospects and donors at various stages of development.
  • Utilize highly proactive identification and qualification strategies i.e. cold calling, database mining, etc., to identify untapped sources of revenue and expand the prospect pool to build a donor pipeline.
  • Create bespoke individual cultivation and solicitation plans for major donors in collaboration and partnership with the CEO.
  • Generate and execute donor calls independently as well as in partnership with the CEO in support of the Foundation team’s goals.
  • Responsible for managing a personal portfolio of approximately 40-50 donors and prospects in all stages of the development cycle and at the $10,000 + level.
  • Collaborate and partner with the CEO on the design and implementation of specific donor cultivation and solicitation events throughout the year, including with the summer seasonal donors.
  • Collaborate and partner with the Community Giving and Engagement Officer to identify and solicit sponsors for Foundation signature events.
  • Consistently deliver a thoughtful, creative and exceptional donor experience in interactions with all prospective, current and past donors.
  • Lead the design and annual implementation of a comprehensive donor recognition and stewardship plan.
  • Ensures a healthy and safe workplace by being a proactive role model, promotes the internal responsibility system and the Occupational Health and Safety Act, and encourages staff participation in all safety and wellness programs.
  • Adheres to safe work practices in all aspects of the position as per policy and procedures, identifies and reports hazardous conditions and promotes a healthy and safe work environment by example.
  • Promotes a work environment free from aggression and unacceptable behaviour by personal example and following organizational policies and the WPSHC code of conduct.
  • Demonstrates the highest standards of customer and patient service for all internal and external interactions and customers.
  • Prioritizes and supports a healthy and safe patient environment by creating an environment whereby patient safety is paramount, addressing and reporting hazardous conditions as soon as identified. 
  • Participates in continuing education and professional development to ensure up to date and current practices in all aspects of the position.

About Parry Sound

Parry Sound is a beautiful town, located on the shores of an inland “ocean”, Georgian Bay. The area boasts many beautiful beaches, parks and trails. It is ideally situated just off highway 400, in the Southermost part of Northern Ontario.
