About the Opportunity

We are seeking a dynamic Community Giving and Engagement Officer to join our fast-paced and growing office located in the West Parry Sound Health Centre, Parry Sound, Ontario. Our organization currently has over 6,000 supporters throughout Canada/USA and annual revenues of approximately $4.5 million.  This is a dynamic and critical role, responsible for inspiring our donors (both seasonal and full-time residents) to support local hospital care.
 
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Community Giving and Engagement Officer will work closely with the entire Foundation team. This position is primarily responsible for all direct marketing fundraising strategic design and implementation to achieve annual fundraising goals. They will lead the Foundation team in implementing the portfolio of Foundation signature events. They will also provide strategic design and implementation of the Foundation’s online presence to support all fundraising activities. The desire and ability to balance teamwork while achieving individual goals is essential.

In addition to having a University Degree or Community College Diploma in a related field, you will also need to have:

  • Innovation and creative approach to both communication and event planning.

  • Project management skills are an asset with proven success in engaging critical stakeholders, partnering with the right people to achieve collective results, readily trying and testing new concepts and quickly adapting to changing circumstances.
  • Experience with basic accounting and data management.

  • Compelling writing skills with the ability to create and tailor messages to a variety of audiences.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams).
  • Ability to attend and support off-site meetings and events in the community.

More About the Opportunity

  • Partnering with the CEO and the Foundation Special Events committee, has overall accountability and responsibility for the annual plan, design and management of the Foundation’s signature events.
  • Provide support to the CEO and the Senior Donor Relations Manager to ensure the best possible experience for hosts and attendees.
  • Lead the Foundation team in creating and implementing an integrated annual direct marking campaign that may include direct marketing, cause related marketing, community events, and third party events.
  • Lead the design, production and distribution of an annual donor impact report and newsletter.
  • Partner and collaborate with the CEO to create and implement an integrated online presence for the Foundation, including event promotion, donor recognition, volunteer recognition, and support for third-party and community events.
  • Creating strategic social media campaigns that support all fundraising plans and campaigns.
  • Act as an ambassador and attend events within the community, including those off site.
  • Proactively identify internal communications opportunities across the Foundation and develop accurate and concise messaging in support of the organization's goals.

About Parry Sound

Parry Sound is a beautiful town, located on the shores of an inland “ocean”, Georgian Bay. The area boasts many beautiful beaches, parks and trails. It is ideally situated just off highway 400, in the Southermost part of Northern Ontario. This charming waterfront town is within a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, and home to 6,500 residents in the town itself, and over 14,000 in the immediate area. In summer, the population grows to nearly 100,000 people with seasonal residents, making for a very interesting dynamic!
