About the Opportunity

WPSHC has an opening for a permanent full-time Pharmacist to join our organization in Parry Sound, Ontario

Your opportunity is to provide direct clinical support for the West Parry Sound Health Centre. You will be focused on the strategic directions of the best patient care, including patient safety, organizational health, system innovation and change, and fiscal responsibility. 

The responsibilities include providing clinical support to the pharmaceutical process and function and proactively identifying, resolving, and preventing drug-related risks for our patients. You will assist in ensuring that all pharmacy operations support the medication procurement, distribution and administration practices of the organization and your professional standards. You will contribute to a supportive, collaborative, professional environment for Pharmacy Staff that builds on the strength of the department and its people. You will embrace change and evidence-informed practice in an inter-professional environment. You will have excellent communication skills while providing patient, family, staff, and physician education throughout drug ordering, dispensing and drug administration processes.

Your interpersonal skills will be well developed through your experience working within an inter-professional team of healthcare professionals. 

You will be knowledgeable in computerized pharmacy systems or have a willingness to learn. You have demonstrated competency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. You see the advantages of technology and apply them to pharmacy practice.

You will have a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctoral of Pharmacy and current registration with the Ontario College of Pharmacists.

About Parry Sound

Parry Sound is a beautiful town, located on the shores of an inland “ocean”, Georgian Bay. The area boasts many beautiful beaches, parks and trails. It is ideally situated just off highway 400, in the Southermost part of Northern Ontario. This charming waterfront town is within a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, and home to 6,500 residents in the town itself, and over 14,000 in the immediate area. In summer, the population grows to nearly 100,000 people with seasonal residents, making for a very interesting dynamic! The area boasts several Provincial Parks and unlimited water for boating, canoeing/kayaking, fishing and things to do.
